Seeking to obtain your GED and construction industry skills? Are you between the ages of 16 to 24?

YouthBuild is a program for young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 seeking to obtain their GED and construction industry skills.
In partnership with the Harris County Department of Education, young adults will participate in a free education component that teaches the GED curriculum.  Students also receive vocational skills through on-the-job training and obtain a certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).  In partnership with Rebuilding Together Houston, youth practice their skills by repairing and rehabbing homes of low-income seniors and veterans.
We will begin our information sessions for YOUTHBUILD on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 3pm. The sessions will be held every Tuesday during the month of October at our office located at 201 Broadway Street, Houston, TX 77012. The information sessions will include details about our program, construction industry, and emphasize the importance of employment/post-secondary education upon completion. The sessions are open to interested young adults, parents, guardians, probation officers, case managers, and partnering agencies.
To qualify youth must provide their social security cards, a valid identification (not expired), withdrawal paperwork from the last school attended for 18 years old and under, and any court appointed documents, if applicable.
All youth MUST attend one of these sessions during the month of October.  This will lead up to our next cohort which begins on November 28, 2016!
If you know of anyone interested, please refer them to our information session.
